It is very likely by the time you only have this achievement left the regular weapons will be done. One five gold star weapon dropped by doing a specific objective with each character on a specific mission. One gold star Sword for completing Ambition Mode Two rare drop gold star weapons with level ranging from 1 to 3 for each weapon type One regular level 4 weapon for each weapon type One regular level 3 weapon for each weapon type One regular level 2 weapon for each weapon type One regular level 1 weapon for each weapon type I have fully explored every map before attempting bosses which meant that for most of them I was at Morale 25 vs their 20 and I just first tried almost every boss. This achievement involves having all weapons unlocked at your gallery, to do that you need to have had it in your inventory at some point, these are: Of course there are other factors that are connected to this - since the game is easy, you're not dying much, and your Morale will quickly get over your Fortitude and enemy's Morale to give you even more advantage. These 2 things might be what's ultimately missing in Wo Long that resulted in probably the easiest game in the genre. Again in Sekiro (and we can't avoid this comparison for obvious reasons) we have thrusts to Mikiri (yes, you can deflect them but it's not the optimal way), sweeps to jump over and grabs to completely avoid. The only things you can't block are criticals, but you don't need to think about them as the default way of dealing with them is the same as with any other attack - you should be deflecting them every time. In Wo Long you can be deflected only by the final boss, only when he doesn't have super armor and only after he takes the stance of "I'll deflect you".Īnother problem might be that literally everything can be deflected in Wo Long. The problem is that Sekiro's combat is more difficult probably because enemies can deflect you. Wo Long works similarly to Sekiro in that it basically gives you the most important tools from the start with some minor things being unlocked on your way. Nioh had the same "issue" where the entry levels were harder because you didn't know how the game works (often going with Dark Souls playstyle which is really boring and inefficient there) and with each new main mission you were getting stronger by shaping up a simple build and gaining active skills, spells and ninjutsu. I think it's normal for Team Ninja's soulslikes. I'm curious as to what others have to say on this topic though. This game has its issues but this is by far the biggest con imho. But I feel the difficulty curve in the first playthrough is so inherently flawed that by late-game, you are just trying to get to the credits ASAP. I'm not discussing NG+ as that is a whole different topic. The Blindfolded Boy you are forced to solo, but he doesn't demand anything more of you than the first Lu Bu boss fight. The highlight of late-game was imho the dual boss fight, because that is the only fight in the entire late-game where you have to approach it a bit differently. The vast majority of bosses after Lu Bu can essentially all be cheesed if for some reason you struggle by using 2 reinforcements and spamming something like ominous chill, or in the case of Lui Bei, venom snare. The game actually becomes easy after this, because you have the mechanics mastered (by virtue of beating Lu Bu), you have more heals, and you probably have some of the level 40 spells unlocked. The setting in every mission changes but there isn't any real new variety. There are a grand total of 4 new enemies after Lu Bu (Bronze/Terracotta Soldier, Corpse Demon, Leishi). The big problem I have though is that the game never asks more of you after this fight. This all culminates in the first fight against Lu Bu, where the game essentially forces you to master the core mechanics of the game. The first part of the game is going to be tough if you aren't familiar with the mechanics, which is compounded with having fewer heals. I want to talk a bit about the difficulty scaling of this game.
